| St. Vincent DePaul Society |
St. Agnes has a conference (organization) of the
worldwide Society of St. Vincent de Paul as do almost all K-W Roman
Catholic churches.
Each conference is responsible for looking after the needy in the
general geographic boundaries of its church. They are supported
largely by donations from parishioners. St. Agnes asks for
contributions after liturgies on the last weekend of each month.
People needing emergency food should call the parish office during
normal business hours and a message will be passed to a Vincentian
volunteer who will deliver the food to the residence. However, because
the service is run by volunteers, it may take up to three days to do
so. Special needs such as the payment of utility bills are assessed on
an individual basis.
The K-W Society operates a used clothing store on King Street West
between Francis and Water Streets. Most of what is sold is donated and
St. Agnes maintains a box in the vestibule where the clothing can be
deposited.
